Background

Altor Equity Partners, the investment advisor to the Altor funds, was founded in 2003 by individuals with a proven track record in the Nordic private equity market.

Altor’s strategy is to focus on the middle market segment for Nordic private equity investments. This distinguishes Altor from many other Nordic private equity firms which are either smaller local firms in one of the four national markets or have expanded into making larger European acquisitions.

Mid 2011, Altor's three funds have completed investments in more than 30 companies. In a majority of these companies, the previous owners have remained as shareholders, reflecting Altor’s strategy to actively seek such partnerships.

The company has built up a strong investment team of Nordic professionals who all have profound international experience in private equity, consulting, investment banking and various industrial sectors.
