NetworkAltor actively cooperates with an extensive network of Nordic and international relations that the team has built up at Altor and during their respective prior careers. This network is a valuable source of expertise to identify and evaluate investment opportunities and the potential business improvement. In addition, we utilize this network to appoint external members of the Board in our portfolio companies. The selected individuals possess the appropriate industrial backgrounds, situation specific experiences and drive to be key contributors to the value creation processes in our portfolio companies and work closely with both Altor and the management teams. When there are similar situations and challenges in multiple portfolio companies, Altor seeks to cross fertilize also on the board level by leveraging individuals with relevant experiences in multiple portfolio companies. Sigge Haraldsson, the former CEO of Alfa Laval, is one example of this, serving on the boards of Aalborg, Meyn and Piab, companies that are active in industries and with value creation agendas tightly related to Sigge's previous experiences. Bengt Kvarnbäck, the former head of of Atlas Copco's compressor division, serves on the boards of Nimbus and Qmatic and is another example where Altor leverages one individual with relevant experience and skills across multiple portfolio companies. A long experience and profound interest in developing business in so called emerging markets has given me a good platform for contributing and guiding in that field.
